The Sunday Post

Sunday 01 May 2016

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Caffeinated Book Reviewer. This is a post to recap the past week on your blog, tell everyone about books and things you can showcase and share news for the upcoming week. Remember to link your post and to visit others who have linked up.

My husband was in Europe this past week and as he walked through the door last night, he was greeted by a first-grader who couldn't stop talking about her first week at school. She just had to tell him about all the new and wonderful things she has learned. She now knows about buttons and badges and weekly meme's and links. She also discovered that she is not alone out there anymore. There are thousands of amazing like-minded friends on this playground. Isn't this just marvelous!

Okay, we don't have a first-grader. The over-talkative-jumping-girl, that was me (no, my husband is not a pedophile. I am of a proper age). But honestly, I truly feel like a first grader after everything I've learned this week on/about the blogger world.

Yes, I'm new to this. Not even a month old! And although I love this new playground, it is all still very strange and complicated for someone of a proper age. But as we know - if all else fails, read the instructions. Yup, readers are achievers and GOOGLE is the ultimate sponsor to assist with your addiction. You can literally type in any question and it pops up with an answer and solution to all the world's problems. Or at least the blogger-world's problems. For the rest, I guess I have to revert to good old trial and error and put it down to experience. (Any tips and suggestions are most welcome!)

After all that studying, I thought I might put it to practice this week. I realized that this MEME thing really helps me to get around a bit. There are a few truly awesome blogs out there with such interesting MEME's. I've joined the following ones this week:

 - My cover characteristics for CIRCUS
-   Friday meets

I've also joined the Bout of books read-a-thon. I've actually never participated in any read-a-thon, so this will also be a first and I might constantly call out for help. Bout of books read-a-thon

For a book blog to be successful, I guess it is rather important to actually do the thing you are blogging about. It might be to your best advantage to actually read a bit. Currently reading

As with most new things we try our hand at, there are always the helpful, but mostly curious by-standers who want to know what you are doing and why. I'm grateful to all of them and decided to give them a proper answer. This is why I've decided to start my own book blog. Reading in the rocking chair

The upcoming week's schedule is still a but vague. Tomorrow is a public holiday, so hopefully I will have time to finish the last of the April reads and start listing (and reading!) the May reads. The rest of the week, I guess I have to teach a bit.

Wishing you all a lovely week filled with words in all its wonderful forms!
