InkStains August 2016

Seeing that August's Library Card was taken under siege ( Take the books hostage ), I guess I don't have to phone a negotiator this month. (The fact that the hostage situation has still not been resolved is completely irrelevant to this post. Please follow September Library Card (still need to be drafted though) ) . No negotiations were brought to the table, except the one or two Netgalley reviews that were due in August (one is still unresolved as well). Maybe this is a bit of a hostile environment at the moment. Let's rather talk about the books that did manage the Great Escape.

InkStains July 2016

July was definitely not the best reading month in recent history.  My Great Expectations turned into A Tale of Two Cities . The best of times - the worst of times. Okay, it wasn't all that bad, reading was just bad. Especially on the paperback/hardcover front. But I blame it on this unusually cold winter we are experiencing. I've never been a fan of winter. I know it is the perfect time to snuggle up with a nice book, but then  holding the book seems to be problematic. Both hands need to be above the blankets and your nose are freezing too. With a kindle you only need one hand outside and it's easy to have everything else covered in fur.  Enough with the excuses, I didn't read as much as planned and didn't stick to my  Library Card  once again.  Here's what I did finish in July:

June 2016 InkStains

After almost 3 months of blogging, I'm starting to notice what comes around and goes around - monthly roundups.  This is my first post of the henceforth monthly update of the books that left a stain on my reading mind. In other words, all the books read by me during the past month. I will combine this with the monthly Library Card page . Still need to find a quirky title though, so watch this space! My  Library Card   for June 2016 ended up being a bit of a disaster. I only managed to finish 1 (yes, one) of the scheduled books.
