Top Ten Tuesday (Thursday...) - 2 June 2016

This week's Top Ten:

Ten books I want to read on the beach this summer.

Top Ten Tuesday is a feature/weekly meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish. Every week they post a 'Top Ten' list and everyone is welcome to join. Just link back to The Broke and the Bookish and add your name to the linky.

It's Top Ten Thursday!! (Of course it's very similar to Top Ten Tuesday. It's just one letter more and two days late, no biggy) I didn't really plan to take part in this week's TTT. Seeing that here in the southern hemisphere we are not packing anything for the beach at the moment..... And then I woke up this morning, cold and sniffling and swamped with work and changed my mind.

I NEED THE BEACH. So I am going to pack my bag of books and put Queen on the i-pod. "OOOOOOH YES! - I'm the great pretender...."

My idea of the perfect beach holiday is a location like Mozambique where there is nothing to do, except for walking on the beach and reading. Perfect time to catch up on book series! What is nicer than have the whole day and the whole week to read a series you've been dying to get your hands on. I am falling a bit behind with popular series, but the following has drawn my attention and I can't wait to put them in my beach bag:

The Raven Cycle by Maggie Stiefvater

 17378508 17378527

Shades of Magic by V.E. Schwab

22055262 A Gathering of Shadows (Shades of Magic, #2) 29939230

The Dark Tower by Stephen King

43615 The Drawing of the Three (The Dark Tower, #2) 34084

Wizard and Glass (The Dark Tower, #4) 4978 5093

5091

Aaaah..... what bliss to have a good imagination. But I honestly do hope to get to all of these. Maybe not on the beach, but anywhere with sufficient light and warmth will do.

For those of you who are on the beach, or going to the beach any day now - hope you have a lovely time and enjoy all those books!

  1. I need to keep that in mind when I go on vacation--pick somewhere where there is nothing to do so reading is the main option. :-) Maybe when my daughter is older and can entertain herself. Haha.

I have yet to read anything by Stiefvater. And I really want to read the Shades of Magic books. I like Stephen King, although am picky about what I'll read by him. So far, it's been hit and miss with his books. I haven't read The Dark Tower books yet though--which are on my must read list.

    1. Hi! I've got a number of bookish friends who's reading habits changed quite a lot after baby came along.... Time goes by so quickly, before you know it she will reading herself.

I'm excited for the Maggie Stiefvater books, hope I won't be disappointed. So glad to hear I'm not the only cherry-picker when it comes to Stephen King. I don't read all his work, I love the Bill Hodges books and I'm currently reading 11/22/63. Very intriguing. One of my best friends went crazy for the The Dark Tower series and I guess there is a reason why some friends are classified as 'best'. So I'll give it a try and let you know!

Hope you are enjoying a lovely week!
